Searching for a great iPad® children’s book then I think you may have just found it. Sky Pals is a new story about four new characters, Wendy Wind, Tommy Thunder, Randy Rain and Larry Lightning as they float through the sky performing what they each do best and they create this marvelous tale about bring rain to Jack’s house in Spreading Valley. The children’s book is animated quite well and includes illustrations and sound effects as well as push button narration for each page. All ages can enjoy this book but especially those children under 6. There is even a movie showing a one year old going crazy for Sky Pals. It is compatible with both iPhone® and iPad but can be seen much more easily on the ipad. I hear that there is a new Sky Pals adventure in the works as I write so that will definitely be worth waiting to see. Here is a little bit more about how SkyPals came to be and screen shots:

In 1968 Burke Johnson set out with an idea inspired by afternoon on the front porch watching a thunderstorm, to create a story book for his children, ages of three and five at the time. The work that emerged from his imagination was originally called “Randy Rain”. After months of work and illustration this original book was finished and he read it to his children who loved it. Inspired he allowed some other kindergarten classes to read the book and it was a success with the children. Deciding to submit the work to publishers who subsequently turned him down at every corner was enough to stop further efforts to publish the book and Mr. Johnson was offered another job thus moving his family. The original work was lost during the move only rough drafts and sketches survive today.

Now the grandchildren are part of the Johnson family, Randy Rain became a topic of discussion and son Taylor Johnson was committed to reviving the imaginative book that he had read as a child so his children could read it. Renamed SkyPals™, Johnson thought the best format for the new book would be in the form of an app for the new iPad which would allow narration and sound effects to enhance the experience. Children’s Media is dedicated to providing the highest level of digital and conventional media content for children. Look for future storybooks to arrive in the near future.
