In 1968 Burke Johnson was inspired one afternoon while watching a thunderstorm to create a story book for his children. The work that emerged from his imagination was originally called “Randy Rain” and now Sky Pals. After months of work and illustration this original book was finished and he read it to his children who loved it. Inspired he allowed some other kindergarten classes to read the book and it was a success with the children. Deciding to submit the work to publishers who subsequently turned him down at every corner was enough to stop further efforts to publish the book and Mr. Johnson was offered another job thus moving his family. The original work was lost during the move only rough drafts and sketches survive today.
Now the grandchildren are part of the Johnson family, Randy Rain became a topic of discussion and son Taylor Johnson was committed to reviving the imaginative book that he had read as a child so his children could read it. Renamed SkyPals™, Johnson thought the best format for the new book would be in the form of an app for the new iPad which would allow narration and sound effects to enhance the experience. Children’s Media is dedicated to providing the highest level of digital and conventional media content for children. Look for future storybooks to arrive in the near future.
